Able2Extract PDF Server Requirements
Able2Extract PDF Server can be installed on any server that has:
- Windows XP SP3 or newer, Windows 2003 SP2 or newer, 32-bit or 64-bit edition.
- 1 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
- 4 core CPU recommended.
- 200 MB of hard disk space for Server installation. Additional 100 MB of hard disk space can be required for system files installation. Additional space required for the files being processed.
There are 3 different methods* for converting PDFs (the administrator controls and determines which method will be used):
- E-mail: Send an attached document to a designated e-mail for server-side conversion. The output document is returned to the user via e-mail.
- Watched Folder: The input folders are organized based on the input file format. The Able2Extract PDF Server will watch folders and convert the documents it finds. You can designate input folders to act as output folders or specify any other folder per format. Users can apply filters to process or skip files that meet certain criteria.
- Job Ticket User Interface: The administrator can deploy a simple user interface to individual desktops where it can be used by end users to send files for conversion.
* We can only guarantee out-of-the-box functionality of the "Watched Folder" method. Functionality of "E-mail" and "Job Ticket User Interface" methods needs to be confirmed on a case-to-case basis.
